Description of Municipal Bond School
The Municipal Bond Club sponsors Municipal Bond School in the first quarter of each year. This annual course of instruction is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to all phases of the business, with emphasis on the mastery of basic skills and knowledge. The classes include sessions on fundamental terminology, regulation, underwriting, trading, analysis, derivitives, public finance, portfolio management, and market strategy.
The class meets once a week for a series of approximately ten sessions. Attendance in the recent past has exceeded 100 enrolled students. SIFMA, located at 120 Broadway, in New York City, has generously provided the venue for our lecture series. Speakers include leaders in the Municipal Bond industry from all the leading firms.
Announcements for the new class sessions will be advertised in The Bond Buyer in January of each year. You may also register for the course on this website. The cost for attending Municipal Bond School is $225. New this year - a WEBINAR will be available at a cost of $275. It is our determination that Bond School remains an important and integral building block for your career in municipal bonds not just through the educational process, but also by establishing a network for young professionals.
